Tom’s and Greg’s Fishing Adventure
REBC – Clear Lake 7/28 – 7/29
Second Club Tournament and I finished 3rd with my partner Steve. Steve and I caught 41 pounds of fish. Steve caught the big fish a monster hawg at 10.53 pounds. The rest of the pictures can be seen by clicking the link http://www.gregfina.com/fishing/REBC/20070729_CLEARLAKE/index.html
The Bass That Got Away
I went night fishing with Steve to pre-fish for the upcoming club tournament. For the second straight time on Clear Lake I had a 5+ lb fish break away right at the boat. Had we been fishing the tournament it would have been in the net, but the time to try and grab the fish without the net gave it the change to break away. I caught 3 Largemouth Bass in the 2 lb range on jigs and 2 on texas rigs in the 1-2lb range. The one that broke away was caught on a drop shot. The pre-fish wasn’t successful enough to win a tournament but it was a good experience. No trophy, no picture.
American Bass Tournament
On July 8th, I fished the American Bass Tournament on Clear Lake. My partner Bill and I caught 30 plus bass all in the 2lb range. These were our two big fish. The big one on the right went 4.11lb. The one on the left I caught and was 3+ lbs. We weighed in 14.53lbs of fish and finished 31st. The winning team had 27 lbs of fish.
Not Quite a Wall Hanger
Tommy vs. Greg – Bassmaster II
I caught 4 fish, weighing approximately 12.5lbs. The big fish went close to 5 pounds. Working top water with buzz bait, sammy and spook.
Tommy struggled to catch fish. Only getting 2 fish, weighing approximately 3lbs. Tommy lost 3 including snapping his line on what would have been the big fish of the day.
Taking Bassmaster II, I now have a record of 1-0-1 in the series. Saturday will be Bassmaster III.
REBC – Lake Sonoma – 6/16/07
I fished with the local bass club in their Lake Sonoma Tournment. I drew Gene, who happens to be a great fisherman. Gene is pictured here with his big fish a 6.18lb large mouth taken on a wacky worm in the main lake. This fish helped Gene and I win the tournament. One tournament entered, one tournament won. Perhaps I should retire now with a perfect record…..or maybe not.
