Andrea and I went to see the 2009 Rose Bowl and Parade. It was the first year since graduating that Penn State played in California. We would see the New Year's Day Tournament of Roses Parade and then the "The Granddaddy of Them All".

We drove to Pasadena on a Tuesday night. On Wednesday we saw the the final setup of the parade floats. The next morning we had front row seats in TV alley for the Rose Parade. The game was not as great. Our team was beat by a superior USC team. The first quarter was exciting as the game was close and a defensive struggle. Penn State lost the game in the 2nd quarter, never really able to cover the speed of the USC receivers with it's traditional 3 deep zone, leaving big pockets of open space for the USC receivers. Even though our team lost, we had a great time.
