Chapter 9 - Day 7 on Oahu.
Pearl Harbor
Our
first stop on this day was Pearl Harbor. Pearl Harbor is the
location of the Japanese surprise attack on the US Pacific Fleet.
The Pearl Harbor memorial remembers over 2400
people who died that day. The main memorial at Pearl Harbor
is over the USS Arizona. The battleship was sunk and is the
final resting place for over 1100 servicemen. Of all the
ships the Japanese sunk, only the USS Arizona, Oklahoma and Nevada
remain at the bottom. 
Dole Pineapple Plantation
Dole Pineapple Plantation and garden is a tourist trap. The only interesting thing was seeing growing pineapples.
Chinaman's Hat
Chinaman's Hat is a formation out
in the ocean which looks like a Chinaman's hat. It was on the
east shore of Oahu.
