Hakone Komagatake Ropeway
Hakone Komagatake Ropeway is an aerial tramway connects Hakone Park to the summit of Komagatake. The trip takes
7 minutes in the gondola. The tramway is 1800 meters long.
Top of Komagatake
The aerial tramway takes you to the top of Komagatake. A volcanoes in the Hakone range.
It raises 1,327 meters about sea level. The first two pictures are of Lake Ashinoko. In the 3rd picture, the body of
water on the horizon is the Pacific Ocean. On a clear day one could see Mt. Fuji to the right from the top. The right
was completely covered in fog.
Boat Tour of Lake Ashinoko
This was a simple boat tour of Lake Ashinoko. There was not much to see other then
the mountains, most of which are volcanoes. The picture of the building is a hotel. Apparently Lake Ashinoko is a
popular resort for people of Tokyo.
Shinkansen
Shinkansen is a super train. It reaches speeds of 160MPH. It took about 1 hour to get
from Hakone to Tokyo. The seats inside the train are not much different from coach class seats on an airplane. When
passing another train it would literally push the train to the left and you could feel it.
